An Outline Of a One-Day Workshop
Bullet-Proofing Your RFPs: A Survival Guide For Public Sector Buyers

Audience: This popular workshop has been attended by public sector officials throughout North America - officials from state and local governments and agencies and from Provinces and cities. They include Procurement Managers, Information Technology Managers, Project Officers, Contract Officers, and Members of Evaluation Committees.

Design Goals: Upon completion of this workshop, attendees will have increased their knowledge of "best" and "worst" practices in jurisdictions throughout North America. Participants will have learned about recent trends and emerging practices and will have had all of their questions answered. They will have expanded their skills and obtained more insights into the following critical areas:

(1) How To Structure and Control the RFP process

This workshop will help you create an RFP that works, that leads to the selection of a practical solution, with little risk at a competitive price - a solution incorporating the best practices found in jurisdictions throughout North America.

(2) How To Structure the Evaluation Process

Participants will examine the building blocks for constructing an evaluation. They will examine ways of testing the evaluation process prior to issuing the RFP, and identify critical flaws. They will examine complex evaluations and their detailed structure.

(3) How To Survive supplier complaints and protests

Participants will examine major flaws in the process which lead to protests or litigation. They will learn about the requirements for fair and open competition, and they will learn how others have structured the process to minimize the number of protests.

This workshop will help you design and implement activities, approaches, and procedures that will ensure that your RFP process can survive both public scrutiny and supplier protests.
