In this issue, we provide a little bit of information on four important topics:

  1. Two great RFP Manuals. In Issue 48, we identified the five best RFP manuals that we’ve seen. Issue 48 described three of these manuals. In this issue, we complete the list with entries from Massachusetts and Montana.

  1. Getting What You Need on the Way to the Win-Win! Leveraging the RFP in State Technology Procurements. Earlier this month, NASCIO/NASPO released this important report. It’s only 18 pages but it goes a long way to promote best practices by dealing with several key issues – critical success factors.

  1. Green Procurement. Much work has been done in establishing green procurement. This article identifies some important sources of information about Green RFPs.

  1. Information Technology Outsourcing. Preparing a Request for Proposals (RFPs) for any large and/or complex project can be challenging. But it can often be even more challenging where the RFP concerns an IT outsourcing project. This article was contributed by a colleague Denis Chamberland, an expert in this area.
